Why We Are Reading Blood Pressure
The hygiene staff at Dr. Oppenlander’s office has been regularly taking our patients’ blood pressure readings during preventive appointments. We are doing this because many people see their dentist more regularly than a physician and could get an early warning about high blood pressure when getting their teeth cleaned or having other dental treatment done. A Health and Human Services study released in August states that about 31 percent of Americans suffer from hypertension. We will continue recording your blood pressure readings as on ongoing effort to provide you with the best care possible.
