Soft Tissue Laser Therapy
Dr. Oppenlander’s office is now offering laser therapy for soft tissue treatments. Using the laser in dental procedures is an innovative technology that enables our team to treat periodontal disease, aphtous ulcers and herpetic lesions, and to desensitize teeth.
Laser therapy has an advantage over traditional therapy because the laser itself can kill the bacteria that causes periodontal disease (gum disease), remove diseased tissue and stimulate healing while minimizing bleeding with little or no anesthesia necessary.
Laser therapy treatments now available in our office include:
- The elimination of tissue destroying oral bacteria in the gum tissue around affected teeth
- Reduction of painful, infected, and swollen gums
- Speed the healing of oral mouth lesions such as canker sores (aphtous ulcer) and cold sores (herpetic lesions)
- Eliminate tooth and gum sensitivity
- Reshaping soft tissue to help facilitate healthier gums for a more pleasing smile
